Novijan Janis began his training at Bulungan Aikido Dojo in 2000. In his early days at the dojo, he practiced the art of peace and harmony under the guidance of his seniors, such as Bawor Prayitno and Anastasia Indry. Along with his fellow practitioners, he focuses on the basic techniques. As an intermediate practitioner, he always keeps a down to earth attitude. To improve his techniques, he has trained with Toshimichi Aoki (5th Dan) ever since 2006. By 2007, under the supervision of his senior, Merdi Murti, he was certified by Hombu Dojo as 1st level Yudansha practitioner. He is now co-instructor at Bulungan Aikido Dojo and Puri Sriwedari Mori Dojo.
